We are currently recruiting for a Senior Social Worker to join the Haverhill Social Care Team within West Suffolk. This is a fast-paced and rewarding role supporting children and families across Child in Need, Child Protection, Looked After Children, and Assessment services.You will play a key role in delivering high-quality assessments and managing complex cases, with a strong focus on safeguarding, support, and prevention.


Key Responsibilities
*Undertake assessments under Section 17 and Section 47
*Manage Child in Need (CIN) and Child Protection (CP) plans
*Work across Child Assessment, Looked After Children, and Support & Prevention services
*Manage a fast-paced caseload (average of 30 cases)
*Provide effective safeguarding interventions and support to children and families
*Work collaboratively with multi-agency partners
*Contribute to Child Protection conferences and meetings
*Deliver high-quality, timely assessments and reports
Skills & Experience*Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration
*Strong experience within assessment teams
*Ability to manage a high-volume, fast-paced caseload
*Sound knowledge of safeguarding legislation and frameworks
*Confident in managing CIN and CP cases
*Excellent assessment, communication, and organisational skills
Working Arrangements*Hybrid working - 3 days per week office-based
*Haverhill office is the primary base due to proximity to families
*Occasional working from West Suffolk House depending on caseload
*Attendance at West Suffolk House required for CP conferences and meetings
*Condensed hours over 4 days will be considered
*Located close to the borders of Cambridge and Peterborough
