We are looking for an experienced 5-Axis CNC Router Operator to join a well-established aerospace manufacturing business. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled CNC professional with experience in CNC routing and machining who is looking to further develop their career within a modern, precision engineering environment.
The business manufactures high-quality aerospace sheet metal and structural components and is looking to strengthen its machining team due to continued growth.
This role would suit a candidate with previous experience operating 3-axis and 5-axis CNC machinery who takes pride in producing high-quality components while maintaining the highest standards of safety and workmanship.
Key Responsibilities:*Work safely at all times and comply with company Health & Safety procedures and 5S standards.
*Set up and operate 3-axis CNC routing machines producing 2D sheet metal components.
*Carry out fixture and jig set-up on 5-axis CNC machining centres.
*Set tool datums and perform machine set-ups.
*Carry out tool changes and machine adjustments as required.
*Operate CNC punch machinery, including machine and tooling set-up.
*Work from engineering drawings and manufacturing documentation.
*Produce high-quality components to specification while meeting production targets.
Key Skills:*Previous experience operating CNC machinery within a manufacturing environment.
*Experience with machine set-up, tool changes and datum setting.
*Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
*Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality components.
*Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
*Commitment to safe working practices and maintaining 5S standards.
Desirable Skills:*Experience using OSAI CNC Controllers (highly desirable and the key requirement for this role).
*Experience operating 3-axis CNC routing machines producing 2D sheet metal components.
*Experience machining aluminium materials.
*Experience operating VWM or Technos 38 CNC routers.
*Experience setting up and operating 5-axis CNC machining centres.
*Experience with CMS machining centres.
*CNC punch experience, including tooling and machine set-up, working with materials between 0.6mm and 2mm.
*Experience operating Amada CNC punch machines using Fanuc Controllers.
*Exposure to CAD/CAM software including:*Radan
*AlphaCAM
*CATIA V5
