Full job descriptionWeekend Medical Receptionist
Hours: 0800 to 1800 Saturday and Sunday only
About the Role:
We are looking for a Medical Receptionist to join our client in Swindon. This is an exciting opportunity to play a vital role in ensuring clinically excellent services while maintaining the highest standards of patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
*Greet and register patients; act as first point of contact
*Book appointments and update patient records
*Answer calls, handle queries, and pass messages to clinical staff
*Direct patients to appropriate departments/services
*Complete admin tasks (Accurately input data onto electronic record systems in line with trust guidelines.)
*Support clinicians by communicating patient arrivals or concerns
*Manage reception area, including opening/closing duties
*Handle busy queues, prioritising urgent cases (weekend pressure)
*Provide calm, professional support to patients and relatives
*Provide administrative support to clinical and operational management teams.
What We’re Looking For:
*Experience in a similar role within the NHS or a healthcare setting (preferred).
*Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word).
*Letter typing skills (desirable but not essential).
