We are seeking a dedicated Emotional Literacy Support Assistant (ELSA) to join our supportive team at a vibrant secondary school. This role is ideal for someone passionate about supporting the emotional and psychological well-being of students, helping them to overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential.
Day-to-day of the role:
*Work directly with students to provide emotional support through planned sessions, using strategies tailored to individual needs.
*Collaborate with teachers and the SENCO to identify students who would benefit from emotional literacy support and develop personalised plans.
*Implement interventions to promote emotional awareness, resilience, and social skills.
*Monitor and record students’ progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents.
*Participate in training and development sessions to enhance your skills and knowledge in emotional literacy support.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
*ELSA Qualification
*Experience in a support role within a school environment, preferably with a focus on emotional and psychological support.
*Understanding of the challenges faced by secondary school students.
*Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage empathetically with students.
*Strong organisational skills and the ability to work independently.
*A commitment to ongoing professional development in the field of emotional literacy support.
