Full job descriptionAre you an experienced Service Charge Accountant looking to join a well-established boutique property management company where your expertise will be genuinely valued?

Our client is a respected independent property management company based in Hertfordshire, specialising in the management of residential developments/block management; they are looking to appoint an experienced Service Charge Accountant to join their close-knit team.

The successful candidate will be ACCA, CIMA or AAT qualified, or qualified by experience, and will have a minimum of five years’ relevant service charge accounting experience.
The Role
Key responsibilities include:

*Preparing and finalising year-end accounts, avoiding Section 20b exposure
*Handling accruals, prepayments, and financial reconciliations monthly
*Collaborating with property managers to ensure clean financial reporting
*Producing reconciliations
*Attending internal, client, and auditor meetings to finalise accounts
*Analysing variances and reconciling data from prior or incoming managing agents (New Business)
*Supporting budgeting and forecasting with insight on service charge performance
The successful candidate will have:
*ACCA, CIMA or AAT qualification, or be qualified by experience.
*A minimum of five years’ relevant service charge accounting experience.
*A strong understanding of service charge accounting and RICS/TPI guidelines.
*Excellent reconciliation and analytical skills.
*Strong attention to detail and the ability to produce accurate financial information to strict deadlines.
*Excellent communication skills and the ability to build effective working relationships with colleagues, clients and external stakeholders.
