Luton 3–5+ Years Experience - Hybrid Working (1-2 Days in Office)


We’re hiring a Mechanical Design Engineer to work on heavy industrial equipment used in critical power generation applications for Nuclear, Oil & Gas industries. This is a role for someone who enjoys getting into the detail — producing accurate, manufacturing-ready drawings, not just 3D models as well as be highly involved in solving real world engineering problems.


What you’ll be doing
*Creating detailed 2D & 3D designs in SolidWorks
*Producing fully toleranced engineering drawings (GD&T)
*Supporting designs from concept through to manufacture
*Working closely with manufacturing to ensure designs are practical and buildable
*Applying DFM / DFA principles across complex assemblies
*Contributing to design reviews and engineering documentation


What we’re looking for
*3–5 years in a mechanical design engineering role
*Strong SolidWorks (or similar CAD) experience
*Confident producing high-quality, manufacturing drawings
*Solid understanding of GD&T and tolerancing principles
*Background in heavy engineering / manufacturing / industrial environments
*Exposure to rotating equipment is a bonus


This role is not FEA-heavy — the focus is on practical design, drawings, and engineering detail
