Veritas Education are working in partnership with a number of supportive and forward-thinking secondary schools across Kirklees to recruit a motivated and enthusiastic Graduate Teaching Assistant. This is an excellent opportunity for graduates considering a career in education, particularly those looking to progress into teacher training in the future.
The Role:As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will support teaching and learning across a range of subjects, working closely with class teachers to ensure pupils are fully engaged and able to achieve their potential. You will provide both in-class support and small group interventions, helping to raise attainment and promote positive outcomes.
This role offers the opportunity to secure a permanent position within a school for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities:*Support the delivery of lessons across a range of subject areas
*Work with small groups or 1:1 to provide targeted academic support
*Assist in managing classroom behaviour in line with school policies
*Help prepare learning materials and classroom resources
*Support students with additional needs to access the curriculum
*Contribute to the wider school community and pastoral support where required
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:*A degree (2:1 or above preferred) in any subject area
*A strong interest in pursuing a career in education
*Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
*The ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
*A proactive and flexible approach to supporting learning
*Previous experience working with young people (desirable but not essential)
