About the RoleWe are looking for a reliable and hardworking Engineering Labourer to join our clients busy machine shop in Basildon. This is a hands-on role supporting the day-to-day operation of the workshop and helping to maintain a safe, clean, and efficient working environment.
Full training will be provided, making this an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a career in precision engineering and manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities*Filling CNC machines with oils and coolants.
*Fettling and deburring machined components.
*Operating a bandsaw safely and efficiently.
*Assisting with the operation of CNC machines (full training provided).
*Maintaining cleanliness and organisation throughout the machine shop.
*Sweeping floors and ensuring work areas remain clean and safe.
*Supporting machinists and the production team with general engineering workshop duties.
*Following all health and safety procedures.
Skills & ExperienceEssential:
*Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
*Good work ethic and reliability.
*Comfortable carrying out physical work in an engineering workshop.
*Ability to work well as part of a team.
*Good attention to detail.
*Awareness of health and safety.
Desirable (but not essential):
*Previous experience in an engineering, manufacturing, or machine shop environment.
*Experience using a bandsaw or similar workshop equipment.
*Experience with fettling, deburring, or CNC machinery.
