Milton Keynes City Council is currently seeking an experienced Social Worker to join their Children in Care team. This is a rewarding opportunity to work in a stable, supportive team focused on achieving the best outcomes for children and young people in care.


Responsibilities
*Chair multi-agency and multidisciplinary meetings
*Complete statutory assessments and annual reviews
*Develop and implement child-centred care plans
*Manage a caseload of up to 18 children, including those under care and placement orders
*Work collaboratively with professionals including IROs, health services, and education teams
*Ensure children’s needs are met through direct work, life story work, and ongoing placement support
About the Team
*Stable and experienced leadership with a Team Manager and Deputy Manager
*Collaborative structure including Senior Practitioners, Social Workers, and Social Work Assistants
*Access to a Clinical Psychologist and Mental Health Worker for additional support
*Strong focus on training, development, and shared learning through regular team sessions
*Dedicated support for adoption work, including life story book creation

Requirements
*Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration
*Recent Children in Care and adoption experience (within the last 5 years)
*Strong assessment, care planning, and case management skills
*Ability to manage a varied and complex caseload
