Full job descriptionWe are recruiting for an experienced Management Accountant to join a growing and forward-thinking organisation based in Watford. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded finance professional looking to take ownership of the month end process while partnering with key stakeholders across the business.
Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will play a key role in delivering accurate financial reporting, supporting strategic decision-making, and driving continuous improvements across the finance function.
Key Responsibilities
*Prepare timely and accurate monthly management accounts.
*Complete month-end processes, including journals, accruals, prepayments, and balance sheet reconciliations.
*Produce variance analysis against budgets and forecasts, providing meaningful commentary.
*Assist with the preparation of annual budgets and regular forecasts.
*Monitor departmental performance and provide financial insights to support business decisions.
*Prepare cash flow reports and support working capital management.
*Reconcile key balance sheet accounts and investigate any variances.
*Support year-end audit preparation and liaise with external auditors.
*Prepare VAT returns and assist with statutory reporting requirements.
*Identify and implement improvements to financial processes and reporting.
*Business partner with operational managers, providing financial support and analysis.
*Support the Financial Controller with ad hoc projects and reporting requirements.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
*Previous experience as a Management Accountant
*Part-qualified (ACCA/CIMA/ACA) or fully qualified ACCA/CIMA/ACA
*Strong month-end accounting experience.
*Excellent understanding of management accounts, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
*Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
*Excellent communication skills with the confidence to work with stakeholders across the business.
*A proactive approach with excellent attention to detail.
*The ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
