Reading Up to £50,000 per annum + Annual Bonus
About the Role
Join a specialist healthcare service supporting the NHS by ensuring the safe sterilisation of surgical instruments. This is a site-based Maintenance Engineer role, working on plant machinery, sterilisers, and automated systems.
Key Duties
*Maintain & repair autoclaves, sterilisers, washers & plant equipment
*Fault finding on mechanical & electrical systems
*Work with steam plants, boilers, conveyors & automation
*Carry out PPM, validation support, and compliance checks
*Support contractors & manage spare parts
*Participate in continuous improvement & on-call rota (1 in 4)
Requirements
*Engineering apprenticeship / HNC / HND / City & Guilds
*2+ years in manufacturing, FMCG, or plant environments
*Strong mechanical + electrical skills (ideally 50/50)
*Experience with automation, hydraulics & pneumatics
*PLC knowledge desirable
*Full UK driving licence
Package & Hours
*Mon–Fri, 40 hours (flexible start 7:00–8:30)
*£30 standby + overtime (1.5x)
*1 in 4 on-call
*Full training provided
