Full job descriptionService & Commissioning Engineer
Salary: £40,000–£55,000 + Overtime
Location: Waterbeach | UK & Overseas Travel
Hours: 40-hour week with flexible structure
A leading designer and builder of bespoke machinery and automated equipment for high-tech and regulated sectors is seeking a Service & Commissioning Engineer. You’ll support commissioning of special-purpose machinery, deliver on-site and remote customer support, and play a key role in ensuring high-quality engineering outcomes.
The Role
*Commission new machinery on client sites in the UK and overseas
*Carry out planned maintenance and servicing
*Provide remote diagnostics and troubleshooting support
*Manage customer assistance requests through the ticketing system
*Support installation, setup and post-delivery activities
*Work collaboratively with internal engineering teams and client stakeholders
What You’ll Need
*Strong experience working with mechanical and electrical industrial machinery
*HND/HNC/C&G in Mechanical, Electrical or Electronic Engineering (or equivalent experience)
*Background in automation, product handling or special-purpose machinery
*PLC fault-finding skills (Omron/Beckhoff highly desirable)
*Ability to make minor HMI modifications (Visual Studio experience beneficial)
*Competence configuring drives and motors
*Excellent communication and customer-facing skills
*Highly organised, proactive and able to work independently
*Full UK driving licence and eligibility for international travel
