About the Role
We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Chef Manager to lead the kitchen at a small, friendly primary school in the Bushey area. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality, nutritious meals to approximately 150 pupils per day, ensuring a safe, efficient, and welcoming dining experience.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a school environment and values work-life balance, with term-time hours only.
Key Responsibilities
*Plan, prepare, and serve fresh, balanced meals in line with school food standards
*Manage all aspects of the kitchen, including food ordering, stock control, and budgeting
*Lead and support kitchen staff to ensure efficient daily service
*Maintain high standards of food hygiene, health & safety, and cleanliness
*Monitor portion control and reduce food waste
*Build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and stakeholders
*Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and company policies
About You
*Proven experience as a Chef or Chef Manager (ideally in a school or similar setting)
*Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations (Level 2/3 Food Safety preferred)
*Excellent organisational and leadership skills
*Passion for preparing healthy, appetising meals for children
*Ability to work independently and manage a small team
*Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
