Full job descriptionLearning Support Assistant (LSA) - TEMP, Full-Time Location: Wickford, Essex
Salary:£1,900 - £2,400 per month
Start Date: Immediate / September
Contract:Permanent | Full-time
A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Wickford is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join their team.
This is a fantastic opportunity to support pupils across the classroom, working closely with teachers to help children engage with learning, build confidence, and achieve their full potential. You will provide support on a 1:1 basis, in small groups, and within whole-class activities, helping to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
The school has a strong community ethos and is committed to ensuring every child receives the support they need to succeed. Staff benefit from a collaborative working environment, supportive leadership, and excellent opportunities for professional development.
Key Responsibilities*Support pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
*Assist the class teacher with the delivery of engaging lessons
*Encourage pupils’ academic, social, and emotional development
*Promote positive behaviour and independence
*Support classroom organisation and learning activities
*Work closely with teachers, SEN staff, and parents where appropriate
*Help create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment
RequirementsEssential:
*GCSE English & Maths (Grade C/4 or above)
*Experience working with children in a school, childcare, or similar setting
*Strong communication and interpersonal skills
*A positive, patient, and nurturing approach
Desirable:
*Previous experience as a Learning Support Assistant or Teaching Assistant
*Experience supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN)
*A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification
*A degree in Education, Psychology, or a related subject
