Build Relationships. Inspire Young People. Change Lives.New Chapter Tuition is proud to be working exclusively with a specialist vocational education provision to recruit a Learning Mentor for a full-time, permanent role starting in September 2026.
This is a unique opportunity to join a growing provision supporting learners from KS3-KS5 with SEMH ADHD, emotional and behavioural needs, and those who have experienced trauma.
Using practical, hands-on vocational learning, you’ll play a key role in helping learners rebuild confidence, re-engage with education, and develop the skills they need to succeed in further education, employment and life.
The RoleAs a Learning Mentor, you will:
*Build positive, trusting relationships with learners.
*Work with learners on a 1:1 basis and in small groups of up to 8, delivering engaging, practical vocational learning.
*Support learners with SEMH, ADHD, SEND and additional needs.
*Use effective de-escalation and positive behaviour management strategies.
*Promote confidence, resilience and emotional wellbeing.
*Create a calm, structured and inclusive learning environment.
*Support learners to develop both academically and personally.
*Work collaboratively with colleagues and other professionals to achieve positive outcomes.

To be successful, you’ll have:
*Excellent relationship-building and communication skills.
*Experience supporting children and young people.
*Confidence working with learners with SEMH, ADHD and challenging behaviour.
*Strong de-escalation skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
*A trauma-informed, nurturing and relationship-led approach.
*The ability to motivate and inspire learners who may have become disengaged from education.
*A genuine passion for helping young people achieve positive outcomes.
Whilst experience in mechanics, engineering or practical vocational learning is desirable, attitude, empathy and the ability to build meaningful relationships are equally important.
