About the Roles
We’re looking for talented Accountants at all levels—from Assistant and Part-Qualified Accountants through to Management Accountants, Financial Accountants and Finance Business Partners—for upcoming roles across both practice and industry. These are hands-on finance roles where you’ll own the numbers that keep a business honest, informed and moving in the right direction.
You’ll work across the full accounting cycle—from transactional discipline and month-end close through to statutory reporting, business partnering and process improvement. The role suits someone who pairs genuine technical accounting rigour with curiosity about the business behind the ledger and the communication skill to make the numbers land with people who don’t live in them.
Key Responsibilities
*Own or support the month-end close—journals, accruals, prepayments, reconciliations and reporting to deadline
*Produce management accounts, P&L, balance sheet and cashflow reporting with clear commentary
*Prepare statutory accounts and support year-end and the external audit process
*Support budgeting, forecasting and re-forecasting cycles
*Deliver variance analysis and explain the story behind budget-to-actual movements
*Maintain robust balance sheet reconciliations and a clean control environment
*Handle VAT returns and other statutory and regulatory submissions
*Business-partner with non-finance stakeholders to inform commercial and operational decisions
*Identify and drive process improvement, automation and stronger financial controls
*(Practice) Manage client portfolios across accounts preparation, bookkeeping oversight and tax compliance
*(For Senior roles) Review junior work, own the close timetable and mentor part-qualified colleagues
What You’ll Bring
Technical Expertise:
*Studying, part-qualified or fully qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA—AAT-qualified and Qualified-by-Experience welcomed at the right level
*Solid double-entry foundations, month-end discipline and balance sheet reconciliations
*Hands-on management accounts production and reporting
*Strong Excel (pivot tables, lookups, structured modelling)
*Experience with accounting systems / ERPs (Xero, Sage, QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP, Oracle or Dynamics)
*VAT and statutory reporting awareness
*(Practice) Accounts-prep and tax software (IRIS, CCH, Xero) and corporation tax fundamentals
Professional & Soft Skills:
*High accuracy and a genuine attention to detail
*Deadline discipline—comfortable with the rhythm of month-end and year-end
*Clear communication with non-finance stakeholders
*Curiosity about the commercial story behind the numbers
*Integrity and a strong sense of ownership over your area
*Collaborative approach across finance and the wider business
*Comfortable learning new systems, sectors and reporting requirements
Domain Flexibility:
*Roles span practice (audit, accounts and tax) and industry across SME, mid-market, large corporate, public sector and not-for-profit
*Background in any of these is welcomed; appetite to move between practice and industry valued just as much
Experience Level:
*Entry / studier level through to 6+ years for Finance Business Partner and senior positions
*Background in practice or industry accounting, or a strong part-qualified trajectory
*Examples of close cycles, statutory accounts or business-partnering work you’ve owned end-to-end
