The OpportunityAn exciting opportunity has arisen for a Maintenance Engineer to join a well-established and growing manufacturing business based in Birmingham. This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of a modern production facility where engineering is genuinely valued, offering excellent job security, ongoing investment and opportunities to further develop your skills.
Working as part of a close-knit engineering team, you will be responsible for maintaining a variety of production machinery through planned preventative maintenance, reactive breakdown response and continuous improvement activities, ensuring maximum equipment reliability and minimal production downtime.
Sector: Manufacturing / Factory Maintenance
Key Responsibilities*Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across production machinery.
*Respond to electrical and mechanical breakdowns in a timely manner.
*Diagnose faults and carry out effective repairs to minimise downtime.
*Support continuous improvement projects to improve machinery reliability and efficiency.
*Complete maintenance documentation accurately.
*Work collaboratively with production teams to maximise plant performance.
*Ensure all work is carried out safely and in line with company procedures.
Essential Requirements*Previous maintenance engineering experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
*Strong mechanical maintenance and fault-finding skills.
*Experience carrying out planned, reactive and breakdown maintenance.
*Recognised mechanical engineering qualification.
*A proactive approach with excellent problem-solving abilities.
Desirable Experience*Experience working within UK manufacturing.
*Exposure to automated production machinery.
*Continuous improvement experience.
