The OpportunityAn exciting opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Maintenance Engineer to join a well-established and growing manufacturing business based in Birmingham. Working as part of a close-knit engineering team, you will support the maintenance of a variety of production machinery through planned preventative maintenance, reactive breakdown response and continuous improvement activities, helping to ensure maximum equipment reliability and minimal production downtime.
Sector: Manufacturing / Factory Maintenance
Key Responsibilities*Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across production machinery
*Support response to electrical and mechanical breakdowns in a timely manner
*Assist in diagnosing faults and carrying out effective repairs to minimise downtime
*Support continuous improvement projects to improve machinery reliability and efficiency
*Complete maintenance documentation accurately
*Work collaboratively with production and engineering teams to maximise plant performance
*Ensure all work is carried out safely and in line with company procedures
Essential Requirements*Previous maintenance engineering experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment
*Strong mechanical maintenance and fault-finding skills
*Experience supporting planned, reactive and breakdown maintenance activities
*Recognised mechanical engineering qualification
*A proactive approach with good problem-solving abilities
Desirable Experience*Experience working within UK manufacturing
*Exposure to automated production machinery
*Continuous improvement experience
