Job Description:
Full job descriptionWe are working with a long-established manufacturer of quality caravan holiday homes and lodges, trading for over 80 years and well respected across the sector. As they grow their sales team, they are looking for a professional, experienced Area Sales Manager to market and sell their products across NW England.
This is a genuinely autonomous role for someone who enjoys owning a territory, building relationships and converting opportunities into long-term accounts.
The role
You will take full ownership of your sales territory, identifying potential customers and turning them into valued, lasting accounts. Day to day this means:
*Planning and running customer visits to an agreed schedule, giving full coverage of your area
*Managing the whole customer relationship, including sales, promotions, after-sales support, inventory checks and credit control
*Collecting and reporting market intelligence, and keeping the company’s sales database and weekly activity reports up to date
*Supporting the company’s response to retail enquiries coming in by phone, email, web and post
*Attending public, trade and dealer shows, including set-up and breakdown
*Attending team meetings at the company’s office and other locations from time to time
You will be supplied with a laptop and full training on the CRM system.
What you will need*An ambitious, target-driven nature
*Strong relationship-building and negotiation skills
*Self-motivation and the discipline to work autonomously and plan your time well
*A keen eye for detail and solid organisation
*Confident written and verbal communication
*Comfortable working in Excel for entering and sorting data (nothing more technical than that is needed)
*A full clean UK driving licence
*Eligibility to work in the UK
Important to know before you apply
This is a field sales role, not a desk job. There is no working from home. You will be on the road Monday to Friday, with overnight stays during the week. On average this is around two nights, though some weeks may be none and others up to four, so flexibility on overnights is essential.
Package*Base salary of £30,000, rising to £35,000 after a successful probation period
*Realistic OTE of up to £70,000 through a structured commission scheme (full detail shared during the process)
*Company car, laptop and mobile phone
*20 days holiday plus bank holidays, increasing with length of service
