Job Description:
Full job descriptionOwen Daniels are supporting a well-established and growing manufacturing business, is seeking an experienced Quality Inspector to join their quality team. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented individual with a strong manufacturing background and experience interpreting engineering drawings and GD&T.
The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring products meet customer specifications and internal quality standards, working closely with production and engineering teams to maintain the highest levels of quality.
Key Responsibilities*Carry out first-off, in-process and final inspection of manufactured components.
*Inspect parts using a range of manual measuring equipment including verniers, micrometers, height gauges and gauges.
*Interpret engineering drawings, specifications and quality documentation.
*Apply Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) principles during inspection activities.
*Record inspection results and maintain accurate quality documentation.
*Identify and report non-conformances, supporting root cause investigations and corrective actions.
*Work closely with production and engineering teams to resolve quality issues.
*Ensure compliance with company quality procedures and relevant industry standards.
*Support continuous improvement initiatives across the manufacturing process.
Requirements*Previous experience working as a Quality Inspector within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
*Strong understanding and practical application of GD&T.
*Ability to confidently read and interpret complex engineering drawings.
*Experience using a variety of manual inspection and measuring equipment.
*Good attention to detail with a methodical approach to inspection.
*Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
*Competent with inspection records and quality documentation.
Desirable Skills*Experience inspecting welded fabrications or welded assemblies would be advantageous but is not essential.
*Knowledge of welding processes and weld inspection would be beneficial.
*Experience with CMM equipment or programming would be an advantage.
*Familiarity with ISO 9001 quality systems.
