An established and highly regarded independent accountancy practice is seeking an experienced Personal Tax Manager to join its growing tax team. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious tax professional looking to combine technical expertise with team leadership while working with a diverse portfolio of clients.
The RoleWorking closely with the Partners, you will play a key role in managing the firm’s personal tax offering, providing technical advice and overseeing the delivery of high-quality compliance and advisory services.
Key Responsibilities*Managing and mentoring a team of Tax Seniors and Trainees, supporting their technical and professional development.
*Acting as the primary point of contact for a portfolio of individuals, partnerships, trusts and estates.
*Identifying tax planning opportunities and providing tailored advice across a range of personal tax matters.
*Overseeing the preparation and review of personal tax returns, ensuring compliance with deadlines and quality standards.
*Managing HMRC enquiries and resolving technical issues on behalf of clients.
*Monitoring workflow, billing and work in progress to ensure efficient departmental performance.
*Building and maintaining strong client relationships while delivering an exceptional level of service.
About YouThe successful candidate is likely to have:
*A minimum of five years’ experience within a tax-focused role in an accountancy practice.
*ATT and/or CTA qualified (or qualified by experience).
*Strong technical knowledge of UK personal taxation.
*Previous experience managing client portfolios and reviewing tax compliance work.
*Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills.
*A proactive, client-focused approach with the ability to identify advisory opportunities.
