Working PatternEvery Saturday and Sunday on a rotating shift basis:
*Week 1: 7:00am – 3:00pm
*Week 2: 2:00pm – 10:00pm
About the RoleWe are seeking a proactive and analytical Water Events Analyst to join our Monitoring & Control team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. Reporting to the Water Events Manager, you will play a key role in monitoring the water network, managing incidents and planned interruptions, and ensuring accurate operational and regulatory reporting.
You will have regional ownership of reactive events and planned interruptions, coordinating activities through to completion whilst ensuring customers and stakeholders remain informed and disruption is minimised.
Working within a fast-paced operational environment, you will use a variety of monitoring tools and systems to proactively identify network issues, analyse data, and support business performance.
Key Responsibilities*Manage reactive events, incidents and planned interruptions across the water network through to completion.
*Act as the focal point for real-time event and incident information and coordination.
*Ensure accurate capture of all corporate and regulatory interruption-to-supply data.
*Proactively identify potential network issues through telemetry and customer data analysis to minimise customer impact.
*Detect and evaluate deviations from performance targets across water network assets.
*Analyse triggers and convert them into planned actions to support operational SLAs.
*Undertake basic root cause analysis using systems such as Connectivity Diagrams, Area Schematics, Aquavista, Watercore and STS.
*Recommend appropriate actions to return assets and networks to normal operating limits.
*Manage, analyse and coordinate Water Quality Events in both reactive and proactive situations.
*Support GIS activity to ensure interruption-to-supply information is accurately captured and validated.
*Escalate events, incidents and risks to relevant stakeholders where required.
*Support the return of operations to a steady state following incidents.
*Work closely with the Water Network System Operator to ensure critical water network changes are identified and escalated promptly.
*Comply with all company Health & Safety policies and procedures.
About YouWe’re looking for someone who has:
*Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
*Excellent attention to detail and data accuracy.
*Experience working with multiple systems and data sources simultaneously.
*Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
*The ability to remain calm and make decisions in a time-critical environment.
*Experience within utilities, operational control rooms, network monitoring, incident management or a similar environment (desirable).
Knowledge of water network operations, telemetry systems, GIS, Aquavista, Watercore or related operational tools would be advantageous but is not essential.
