I’m working with a fast-growing and ambitious accountancy and business advisory firm that’s investing heavily in its future. With clear plans for continued expansion through both organic growth and strategic acquisitions, they’re looking to appoint a Senior Manager who can play a key role in developing both people and the business.
This is much more than a portfolio management role. You’ll be trusted to lead teams, develop future managers, strengthen client relationships and contribute to the firm’s ongoing growth strategy. For the right individual, there’s also the opportunity to become involved across multiple offices throughout the North and Midlands region.
The OpportunityWorking closely with Directors and Partners, you’ll oversee a diverse portfolio of owner-managed businesses, acting as a trusted adviser while ensuring the highest standards of client delivery.
A significant part of the role centres around leadership-reviewing work, coaching and developing your team, improving processes and helping to shape the future direction of the office.
You’ll also play an active role in business development, identifying opportunities to grow existing client relationships and supporting the continued expansion of the practice.
What You’ll Be Doing*Managing a diverse portfolio of owner-managed businesses, partnerships and limited companies.
*Reviewing statutory accounts, tax work and management accounts prepared by the wider team.
*Leading, mentoring and developing junior staff, providing regular coaching and technical support.
*Conducting file reviews and ensuring consistently high technical standards across the team.
*Working closely with Directors to improve departmental performance and efficiencies.
*Building long-term relationships with clients, becoming a trusted commercial adviser.
*Identifying opportunities to introduce additional services and strengthen existing client relationships.
*Supporting networking and business development initiatives to contribute to the firm’s continued growth.
*Assisting with KPI reporting and helping drive operational improvements across the department.
About YouYou’ll be ACA or ACCA qualified (or an experienced QBE professional) with a strong background in UK accountancy practice and previous experience managing both people and client portfolios.
You’ll also bring:
*Proven experience leading and developing high-performing teams.
*Strong file review and quality control experience.
*Excellent client relationship and stakeholder management skills.
*A commercial mindset with an interest in business development.
*The confidence to mentor, motivate and support others.
*Excellent organisational and communication skills.
*Experience with systems such as IRIS, Xero and Sage would be advantageous.
