Full job descriptionAre you an experienced local authority ecologist looking for your next contract?
We’re seeking a Senior Natural Environment Officer to provide expert ecological advice on planning applications and help shape sustainable development across the borough. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a busy planning team where you’ll play a key role in protecting and enhancing the natural environment.
The Role*Provide specialist ecological advice on planning applications.
*Review ecological surveys, mitigation strategies and Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) submissions.
*Advise planning officers, developers and key stakeholders on ecological matters.
*Ensure developments comply with environmental legislation and planning policy.
*Promote biodiversity enhancement through the planning process.
About You*Previous experience working as an Ecologist or Natural Environment Officer within a local authority.
*Proven experience commenting on planning applications.
*Strong knowledge of ecology, wildlife legislation and planning policy.
*Able to manage a varied caseload and communicate confidently with a range of stakeholders.
