Reigate, Surrey | Fixed-term, 3 to 6 months with the potential to go permanent | Competitive, dependent on experience
A well-established independent practice in Reigate is looking for an experienced accounts and bookkeeping person to join the team on a fixed-term basis. It’s cover for a colleague, with some extra work on top, so they need someone who can settle in quickly and get stuck in.
The role

You’ll be preparing accounts for sole traders and small family companies, with a good chunk of the work focused on Making Tax Digital. Alongside that there’s a steady run of in-house bookkeeping. The firm works across a mix of systems, so you’ll be comfortable moving between them rather than wedded to one.
Day to day this looks like:
*Accounts preparation for owner-managed businesses, sole traders and small limited companies
*Hands-on MTD work
*In-house bookkeeping across Xero, Sage Line 50 and QuickBooks
*Working with the wider team on accounts, tax and general client matters
Who this will suit

Someone who has spent real time in practice and knows their way around accounts prep for smaller clients. You don’t need to be qualified. What matters more is that you’re experienced, reliable and happy to pick things up at pace. This isn’t a role for a first-job trainee.
If you’ve used IRIS, Absolute Software or Clearbooks, that’s a real plus, though a strong all-rounder who can learn the systems will be considered too.
