GPN Recruitment are partnering with a well-established, independent accountancy practice based in North London who are looking to recruit an experienced Accounts & Audit Senior to join their growing team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced practice professional looking for a varied role within a friendly and supportive firm. You’ll work with a diverse portfolio of owner-managed businesses, limited companies, partnerships and sole traders across a range of sectors, gaining exposure to accounts, audit and tax work.
The role is predominantly focused on accounts preparation and tax compliance, whilst also offering regular audit exposure (approximately 25% of the role) and the opportunity to review work prepared by junior members of the team.
Key Responsibilities:
*Preparing and reviewing statutory accounts for a varied portfolio of clients
*Preparing and reviewing corporation tax returns
*Preparing and reviewing VAT returns
*Preparing personal tax returns
*Working on / leading audit assignments from planning through to completion (approximately 25% of the role)
*Liaising directly with clients and responding to day-to-day queries
*Supporting with ad hoc assignments and technical projects
Qualifications & Skills
*ACA or ACCA qualified (or equivalent), or qualified by experience with relevant practice experience
*Recent experience working within a UK accountancy practice
*Confident in preparing and reviewing statutory accounts and corporation tax returns
*Personal tax experience
*Capable of leading audits from planning to completion, or experience in assisting on audits
*Strong communication and organisational skills
