Full job descriptionElevation Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Trainee Saw Setter / Operator to join a successful and well-established manufacturing business within their operations team. You’ll be responsible for the safe and efficient processing of materials through sawing operations, using a range of saws.

Saw Setter / Operator
Location: Sheffield
Hours: Rotating shifts – Mornings & Afternoons
Contract: Permanent
Responsibilities:*Operating semi-automatic saws in line with the production schedule
*Extracting materials using lifting equipment, including slings, cranes and FLT
*Moving jobs through the system using PDA operations
*Weighing, measuring, and inspecting materials prior to dispatch
*Packing and dispatching goods
*Part marking and deburring cut billets
*Maintaining cleanliness using floor cleaning equipment and general housekeeping
*Managing swarf and ensuring clean handovers at shift changeovers
*Monitoring and reporting maintenance requirements to the Operations Manager
*Managing coolant and blade stock levels
*Supporting other team members and assisting with wider manufacturing duties as required
*Adhering to Health & Safety standards and contributing to a positive working environment
Requirements:*Previous experience operating band saws
*Overhead crane experience
*FLT licence
*Strong team player with a positive, can-do attitude
*Computer literate
*Willingness to support with cleaning/maintenance as required
*Previous experience in the metals industry
