Full job descriptionData Analytics Engineer | Hybrid | Basingstoke
We’re working with a growing financial services business looking to bring in a Data Analytics Engineer to help build out their data platform from the ground up.
You’ll own the end-to-end lifecycle of data products - ingestion, modelling and presentation - working closely with stakeholders across the business to turn raw data into something they can actually use and act on.
What you’ll be doing:
*Designing and building performant data ingestion pipelines using Apache Spark, ideally within Azure Databricks
*Contributing to the platform’s data modelling and architecture
*Building dashboards and semantic models, and presenting these directly to stakeholders
*Working across the full pipeline from source systems to target repositories, with a strong focus on data quality
*Collaborating with Data Scientists to help productionise ML pipelines
*Operating within an Agile/DevOps environment
What we’re looking for:
*Strong SQL and Python skills
*Solid understanding of Lakehouse architecture and data management principles
*Hands-on experience with Azure (Data Factory, Databricks, Synapse, Storage, DevOps)
*Experience designing Star Schema data models for Power BI
*5+ years’ experience building data platforms in a commercial setting
Nice to have:
*Real-time pipeline experience
*Azure Data Engineer certification
*Exposure to Kafka or other open-source tools
*Background in a regulated industry (finance/insurance)
