Our client is a successful international procurement and supply chain company, supplying customers across Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia, and South America. Due to continued growth, they are looking to recruit a Sales Account Manager to join their busy commercial team based in Colchester.
This is an excellent opportunity to develop a long-term career in international sales, procurement, and global sourcing.
The RoleAs a Sales Account Manager, you will manage customer accounts while sourcing products from UK and international manufacturers and suppliers. You will negotiate pricing, prepare quotations, manage supplier relationships, coordinate orders, and ensure customers receive an outstanding service from enquiry through to delivery.
Working closely with suppliers, logistics providers, and internal teams, you will play a key role in delivering efficient procurement solutions for customers across international markets.
Key Responsibilities* Manage customer accounts and build long-term business relationships
* Source products from UK and international manufacturers and suppliers
* Identify and develop new supplier partnerships
* Obtain, compare, and evaluate supplier quotations
* Negotiate pricing, lead times, payment terms, and commercial agreements
* Prepare accurate customer quotations and pricing proposals
* Raise and manage purchase orders from enquiry through to delivery
* Coordinate with warehouse and logistics teams to ensure timely deliveries
* Monitor supplier performance and delivery schedules
* Resolve customer and supplier enquiries efficiently
* Maintain accurate purchasing, procurement, and CRM records
* Support continuous improvement across procurement and supply chain activities
Skills & ExperienceEssential* Previous experience in sales, account management, business development, procurement, purchasing, supply chain, customer service, or commercial administration
* Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
* Strong negotiation and influencing abilities
* Commercial awareness and a customer-focused approach
* Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
* Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
* Professional telephone manner
* Good Microsoft Office skills
* Full UK right to work
* Own transport to commute to the Colchester office
Desirable* Experience in B2B sales or account management
* Procurement or purchasing experience
* Supply chain or logistics knowledge
* International trading or export experience
* Experience using CRM or ERP systems
* Additional language skills (German, Italian, Spanish) would be advantageous but are not essential
