Full job descriptionHays Education are looking for compassionate, reliable and adaptable Supply Teaching Assistants to work within Complex SEN Schools in the Stockport area. These schools cater for pupils with a range of needs including Autism, Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), and associated medical or behavioural challenges.
Location: Stockport
Contract: Flexible Supply / TemporaryRate: Up to £125/day

Key Duties/Responsibilities:
*Support pupils with complex SEN needs in classroom and 1:1 settings.
*Assist teachers in delivering personalised learning plans and interventions.
*Provide support with communication, sensory needs, and personal care where required.
*Promote independence and engagement through structured routines and positive reinforcement.
*Work collaboratively with teaching staff, therapists, and external professionals.
*Ensure safeguarding and confidentiality are maintained at all times.

Key Skills/Experience:
*Experience working with children with complex SEN needs (school or care setting preferred)
*Knowledge of strategies for supporting pupils with Autism, SLD, or PMLD
*Ability to remain calm under pressure and adapt to challenging situations
*A positive, patient, and empathetic approach to supporting vulnerable learners
*A strong commitment to supporting learners with additional needs and their families
*Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
