Elland, West Yorkshire
£15.67 per hour
38.5 hours per week
Hours 7am - 3.30pm Monday to Thursday / 7am - 1.30pm Friday
We are currently seeking a Warehouse & Logistics Operative to join our manufacturing client based in Elland, West Yorkshire. This is a varied, hands-on role ideal for someone with experience in both driving and warehouse operations.
As a Warehouse & Logistics Operative, you will play a key role in supporting the smooth running of warehouse and transport activities across the business.
Key Responsibilities
The successful Warehouse & Logistics Operative will be responsible for a range of duties, including:
*Picking stock and managing stock control using Tharsterns MIS to locate and position raw materials
*Delivering finished products to customers and transporting raw materials between sites
*Wrapping and strapping work-in-progress (WIP) for safe transportation
*Preparing raw materials for production, including guillotining
*General housekeeping duties (internal/external bins, shredding, clean-as-you-go policy, archived PMWS, quarantine procedures)
*Operating FLT equipment to move materials and manage waste streams (carton board, hazardous waste, plastics, etc.)
Driving & Transport Duties
As part of your role as a Warehouse & Logistics Operative, you will:
*Drive a 7.5-tonne DAF vehicle and Sprinter van daily between sites
*Carry out occasional local deliveries
*Load and unload goods safely and efficiently
*Assist with shipping and receiving tasks
Skills & Experience Required
To succeed in this Warehouse & Logistics Operative position, you should have:
*A valid CPC licence
*FLT licence (advantageous, though training will be provided)
*Previous warehouse or logistics experience
*Strong materials handling skills
*Ability to operate mechanical equipment safely
*Familiarity with warehouse management systems and basic IT skills
*Capability to lift heavy items and work on your feet for extended periods
