Highly successful SME Electronics Manufacturing business require experienced Purchasing & Operations Manager to undertake a challenging position at newly refurbished premises, based in Slough.
About the role
Reporting to the Managing Director the Purchasing & Operations Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of purchasing, supply chain, production and quality. The Purchasing Operations Manager will adopt a forward thinking, strategic approach to ensue that the organisation can meet customer demand through strategic purchasing initiatives and clear data driven production processes.
*Hands on management of the company purchasing function ensuring a strategic approach dealing with suppliers and outsourced manufacturing contracts.
*Oversee the Production function ensuring use of lean manufacturing techniques and driving clear KPI lead process improvements.
*Undertake full control of the supply chain and inventory function to maintain a consistent flow of required components and an efficient manufacturing process.
*Drive continuous improvements within the Operations team to improve efficiency, flexibility, and quality across all areas
*Become the ERP superuser for newly implemented system and ensure clear processes and measurable KPIs across all functions.
*Setting team objectives and overseeing personal development plans for a team of over 20 employees
*Oversee product testing, fault finding and customer returns
*Implement performance KPIs across the production, purchasing and supply chain functions
*Prepare business cases for suggested efficiency improvement projects
*Implement and manage corporate Health & Safety policy
About you:
The Purchasing & Operations Manager will be Degree educated, ideally within an Engineering discipline and have a proven track record within the Electronics Manufacturing sector
In addition you will have have gained senior level Operations experience that has encompassed direct management of the Purchasing and Supply Chain functions
The successful applicant will have experience using a modern ERP system for the sourcing and production of Electronic components
