Housing Benefits Assessment Officer
Location: Welwyn Garden City - HYBRID / Remote working offered
Salary: £20.50 per hour
Contract: Temporary - 12 weeks - Part Time - 18.5 hours per week
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Housing Benefits Assessment Officer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for assessing and processing Housing Benefit and Council Tax Reduction claims in line with current legislation and local policies.
Key Responsibilities:
*Assess new and existing benefit claims accurately and efficiently
*Verify and process supporting documentation
*Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and guidelines
*Respond to customer enquiries and provide clear advice
*Maintain accurate records and meet performance targets
Requirements:
*Previous experience in housing benefits assessment or a similar role
*Strong knowledge of Housing Benefit regulations (preferred)
*Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
*Strong communication and customer service abilities
*Ability to work independently and as part of a team
