Job Description:
Full job descriptionReed is delighted to be exclusively retained on a fantastic Head of Finance opportunity within a purpose-driven organisation at a pivotal point in its journey. This is a rare chance to step into a high-impact leadership role where you will shape financial strategy, influence senior decision-making, and play a key part in delivering long-term organisational objectives within the charity/third sector.
This is far from a traditional finance role. You will take full ownership of the finance function, combining strategic oversight with hands-on delivery, ensuring strong financial governance, clear reporting, and meaningful insight that drives real impact.
The role will see you leading on financial strategy, partnering closely with senior stakeholders, and ensuring robust controls, compliance, and reporting are in place. You will oversee budgeting, forecasting, and cashflow management, while also taking ownership of year-end processes, audit, and statutory reporting. Alongside this, you’ll play a key role in managing funding requirements, ensuring adherence to grant conditions and supporting impact reporting.
You’ll lead and develop a small, capable finance team, while acting as the main point of contact for external stakeholders including auditors and advisors. There is also a strong focus on continuous improvement, identifying smarter, more efficient ways of working and enhancing systems and processes to deliver better insight and performance.
We are keen to speak with fully qualified accountants (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) who bring proven experience operating at a senior level. You will ideally have exposure to the charity, public, or wider not-for-profit sector, with a strong understanding of financial controls, governance, and stakeholder engagement. Strong communication skills, commercial awareness, and the ability to influence at senior level are essential.
This role will particularly appeal to individuals who are motivated by purpose, enjoy working in evolving environments, and want to combine strategic leadership with a hands-on approach.
If you are looking for a role where you can genuinely make a difference while advancing your career, this is an opportunity not to be missed.
Please send your CV as soon as possible to be considered, and for further details or a confidential discussion, contact Liam O’Flaherty on .
