Full job descriptionRobert Half is partnering with a leading global financial services organisation to recruit a Graduate Financial Operations Analyst working in a modern Payments & Settlements Team. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate with up to 18 months’ experience, or someone looking to take the next step in their finance career within a fast-paced and regulated environment.
If you enjoy working with numbers, have exceptional attention to detail, strong reconciliation/Excel ability and are looking to build a long-term career in financial operations, payments or treasury, this role offers outstanding training, exposure to international payment processes and genuine opportunities for progression.
The Role
As part of a collaborative Payments team, you’ll play a key role in ensuring the accurate and timely processing of high-value transactions across multiple entities. You’ll gain exposure to payment operations, reconciliations, FX, cryptocurrency trading and financial controls while working closely with teams across the business.
Key responsibilities include:
*Processing and releasing payments through treasury management systems and online banking platforms.
*Monitoring and reconciling daily payment activity to ensure accuracy.
*Investigating payment queries, including recalls, tracers and rejected payments.
*Supporting the settlement of transactions and helping resolve discrepancies.
*Producing reconciliations and maintaining Excel-based reporting and tracking tools.
*Working closely with internal stakeholders to ensure smooth payment operations.
*Identifying opportunities to improve processes and enhance operational efficiency.
*Ensuring all activities are completed in line with regulatory requirements and internal controls.
*Assisting with project work and providing support across the wider Operations team when required.
About You
We’re looking for someone who is eager to learn, naturally analytical and enjoys solving problems.
You’ll ideally have:
*A degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics or a related discipline.
*Up to two years’ experience within finance, payments, banking, treasury or financial operations.
*Strong Microsoft Excel skills and confidence working with data.
*Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
*Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships across different teams.
*A proactive mindset with a genuine interest in financial markets, payments or fintech.
*Previous exposure to FX, payment processing or financial services would be advantageous but is not essential.
