We are seeking a dedicated, qualified SEND Teacher to join a welcoming mainstream primary school in September to lead teaching within its specialist ARP for pupils with Special Educational Needs.
The Role
In this SEND Teacher role, you will support a small class of up to 10 pupils with a range of additional needs, including ASD, non-verbal communication, speech and language difficulties, and developmental delay, with or without EHCPs.
You will be responsible for delivering engaging, tailored learning in a nurturing and structured environment, helping every child reach their full potential. You will benefit from the support of a team of Learning Support Assistants, enabling you to make a meaningful impact on pupil progress and wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities:
*Plan and deliver high-quality, sensory-focused lessons to pupils with sen.
*Create a supportive, structured learning environment that meets the diverse needs of all learners.
*Work closely with an experienced team of teaching assistants and support staff within the Hub.
*Liaise with mainstream staff to support pupil integration where appropriate.
*Collaborate with external agencies and benefit from the wider support of the local trust.
While pupils are primarily based within the Hub, some will access mainstream lessons and participate in wider school activities where appropriate.
To apply for this role, you must have:
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Experience teaching children or young people with SEND
• Comprehensive knowledge, understanding, and experience of working with children with autism
• Experience in one or more of the following approaches: Attention Autism, TEACCH, Makaton, and PECS
