Full job descriptionWe are working with a well-established accountancy and advisory firm that is looking to appoint an experienced Audit Manager to join its Glasgow team.
This is a strong opportunity for a qualified audit professional who enjoys managing client relationships, leading audit assignments and supporting the development of junior colleagues. The role would suit someone who is comfortable taking ownership of a varied portfolio and who enjoys being a key point of contact for clients throughout the audit process.
The firm works with a broad range of businesses, from owner-managed companies through to larger and more complex organisations. You would be joining a supportive team environment with a clear structure, good progression opportunities and a flexible approach to working.
The role
As Audit Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing audit assignments from planning through to completion, ensuring work is delivered to a high standard and within agreed timescales.
Typical responsibilities will include:
*Managing a portfolio of audit clients and building strong working relationships with key contacts
*Planning, coordinating and reviewing audit assignments across a varied client base
*Acting as a key contact for clients, providing clear communication throughout the audit process
*Reviewing audit files and ensuring work is completed in line with relevant standards and internal quality procedures
*Identifying technical matters during assignments and helping to resolve these appropriately
*Monitoring budgets, timescales and job profitability, including identifying and addressing any overruns
*Supporting, coaching and developing junior members of the audit team
*Providing constructive feedback to colleagues and helping them progress technically and professionally
*Working closely with senior colleagues and partners on client delivery, team development and wider departmental priorities
*Contributing to new business activity, proposals or client pitches where required
*Taking an active role in your own development and supporting continuous improvement across the team
About you
You will ideally be:
*ACA, ACCA or CA qualified
*Experienced in external audit within an accountancy practice environment
*Confident managing a portfolio of clients and multiple assignments at the same time
*Comfortable reviewing work and supporting more junior team members
*Able to communicate clearly with clients, colleagues and senior stakeholders
*Commercially aware, organised and able to manage deadlines effectively
*Technically strong, with a good understanding of audit quality and professional standards
