Setting: Specialist SEN School
We are currently looking for a Deputy Head Teacher to join a small specialist SEN school based in Shrewsbury.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced SEN education professional who is looking to take the next step in their leadership career within a supportive and specialist school environment.
The school supports a small cohort of children and young people with learning disabilities, complex learning needs and autism. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the leadership, management and development of the school, while ensuring pupils receive high-quality education, care and support.
Key Responsibilities:
*Support the Head Teacher with the day-to-day leadership and management of the school.
*Lead, motivate and support teaching and support staff to deliver high standards of education.
*Contribute to curriculum development, teaching and learning standards, and school improvement.
*Support pupils with learning disabilities, autism and complex learning needs.
*Promote a safe, inclusive and positive learning environment.
*Support with Ofsted, DfE, Estyn or other regulatory standards and inspection preparation.
*Ensure safeguarding, policies and procedures are followed effectively across the school.
*Requirements:
*Qualified Teacher Status, FE teaching qualification, or equivalent teaching qualification.
*SEN qualification or strong SEN experience.
*At least one year of proven successful leadership or management experience within a school setting.
*Experience working with pupils who have complex learning difficulties, learning disabilities and autism.
*Experience working with Ofsted, DfE, Estyn or similar regulatory standards within a school setting.
*Strong communication, leadership and organisational skills.
*A passion for supporting children and young people with additional needs.
This role would suit an experienced SENCo, Assistant Head Teacher, Deputy Head Teacher, Head of Education, Senior Teacher, Lead Teacher or SEN professional who is ready to progress into a senior leadership role.
