We are looking for a professional, confident Ward Manager who can lead, inspire & oversee the delivery of the very best care.
You’ll be working 38.5hours a weekat Cygnet Hospital Harrogate. This is a long-established mental health hospital that provides an emergency admissions service across two acute wards. The service has a full Multidisciplinary team (MDT) including consultant psychiatrists, doctors, a therapy team including group and activities coordinators and nursing therapists. There are a range of therapies available and all service users can access a minimum of 25 hours’ therapy a week. There is a comprehensive programme of both group and individual therapies.
Our team work closely and collaboratively with service users, their families and the referrer to provide a seamless pathway from referral to discharge.
Your day-to-day…
You’ll be working 38.5 hours a week in an acute setting with mental health patients.
• Provide suggestions, proposals & recommendations to the Hospital Manager aimed at the continued development of the ward
• Contribute & participate in planned visits to the ward by professional visitors
• Initiate & maintain a monitoring system in relation to professional nursing practice at unit level, including pin numbers & the current registration of all qualified staff
• Ensure that the evaluation of service delivery is user (i.e. pati
ent, carer & family) based
• Advise non-clinical staff within the hospital on management of patients with mental illness
• Ensure patients’ rights to confidentiality are respected & that Cygnet Health Care & professional policies are adhered to.

• Familiar with an in-patient setting
• Experienced in managing change, leadership initiatives, motivating & developing others
• Open, compassionate, honest & resilient
• Capable of undertaking audits, developing, following-up & ensuring completion of action plans
• Well-informed of the Mental Health Act & the latest nursing practices
• Focused on patient recovery to monitor, manage & reduce risk.
