Salary: £37,020 to £39,276
Contract: Full Time, 12-month Fixed Term Contract
Vetting: Relevant police vetting required
Driving Licence: Full UK Driving Licence required
Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary is seeking dedicated and professional investigators to join its investigation teams, playing a vital role in bringing offenders to justice, safeguarding vulnerable people, and supporting victims throughout the criminal justice process.

The Role
As a Police Staff Investigator (PIP2), you will investigate serious and complex crimes, placing victims at the heart of everything you do. You will work alongside detectives, specialist investigators, partner agencies, and criminal justice professionals to gather evidence, develop intelligence, manage risk, and build robust prosecution files.
You will be responsible for conducting investigations from initial assessment through to case conclusion, ensuring all enquiries are conducted professionally, ethically, and in line with relevant legislation and investigative standards.
Key Responsibilities
*Conduct serious and complex criminal investigations.
*Gather, assess, and develop intelligence, evidence, and investigative material.
*Interview victims, witnesses, and suspects in accordance with PIP2 standards.
*Identify, plan, and progress investigative actions and lines of enquiry.
*Assess threat, harm, and risk, implementing appropriate safeguarding measures.
*Manage exhibits and evidential material in accordance with legislation and policy.
*Prepare comprehensive case files and conduct disclosure in line with CPIA requirements.
*Liaise with internal teams, criminal justice partners, and external agencies.
*Support victims throughout investigations, including completing risk assessments and safeguarding plans.
*Produce high-quality reports, statements, and investigation updates.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
Essential
*PIP2 Investigator Accreditation (or willingness to complete and achieve accreditation where applicable).
*Experience conducting serious and complex investigations.
*Strong evidence-gathering and problem-solving skills.
*Good understanding of the Criminal Justice System.
*Experience managing complex information and multiple lines of enquiry.
*Ability to make sound decisions based on risk, evidence, and investigative priorities.
*Strong written and verbal communication skills.
*Ability to produce accurate reports and case documentation.
*A full UK driving licence.
