Full job descriptionOur client is a well-established manufacturer with a strong commitment to operational excellence, innovation, and employee development. They are currently seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join their maintenance team at their Stirling facility.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a proactive engineer who enjoys a hands-on role within a fast-paced manufacturing environment, where reliability, safety, and continuous improvement are key drivers of success.
The Role
As part of the site engineering team, you will be responsible for maintaining and improving the performance of production equipment through a combination of planned preventative and reactive maintenance activities. You’ll play an important role in ensuring plant reliability while supporting ongoing improvement projects across the site.
Key Responsibilities
*Carry out routine planned maintenance activities across manufacturing equipment and site services.
*Diagnose and repair mechanical faults to minimise downtime and maintain production efficiency.
*Maintain and service a variety of plant equipment, including conveyors, pumps, gearboxes, bearings, hydraulics, pneumatics, and rotating machinery.
*Assist with equipment upgrades, installations, and commissioning projects.
*Ensure all maintenance work is completed safely and in line with company procedures and risk assessments.
*Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and operational performance.
*Work collaboratively with production and engineering colleagues to achieve site objectives.
About You
To be considered for this role, you should have:
*An HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering or a completed Mechanical Engineering apprenticeship.
*Previous experience within a manufacturing, industrial, or production environment.
*Strong mechanical maintenance and fault-finding skills.
*Experience working on a range of mechanical systems and plant equipment.
*The ability to work independently while also contributing effectively within a team.
*Good communication skills and a practical, solutions-focused approach.
Desirable Experience
*Knowledge of continuous improvement techniques.
*Experience supporting plant optimisation and reliability initiatives.
*Competency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel.
*A flexible and proactive attitude towards maintenance and engineering challenges.
