*Acting as the technical accounting expert, advising on complex transactions and significant commercial arrangements.
*Providing guidance on Group accounting policies and ensuring compliance with internal and external reporting standards.
*Leading the coordination of both internal and external audit activities, ensuring findings are effectively managed and resolved.
*Owning the SOX control framework, coordinating testing activities and strengthening the overall financial control environment.
*Identifying financial control risks and implementing practical, sustainable process improvements.
*Working closely with Shared Services to ensure appropriate governance and oversight across transactional finance activities.
*Supporting finance transformation and wider business projects, contributing technical accounting expertise and control oversight.
*Leading, developing and mentoring a small finance team.
About You
We are seeking an experienced technical accountant with a strong financial controls background who enjoys operating within a complex, fast-paced corporate environment.
To be successful, you will demonstrate:
*ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification (ACA highly desirable).
*Big 4 or leading practice audit training.
*At least two years’ post-practice experience within a large corporate, multinational or PLC environment.
*Strong experience across financial controls, statutory reporting, governance, compliance or technical accounting.
*Exposure to SOX, internal controls or wider risk management frameworks.
*Excellent technical accounting knowledge, including a strong understanding of UK GAAP and IFRS, with the ability to interpret and apply accounting standards to complex transactions.
*Strong stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to influence senior leaders across finance and the wider business.
*A proactive approach to identifying opportunities for process improvement and strengthening financial governance.

Working closely with senior finance leadership and Group stakeholders, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining robust governance, influencing financial decision-making and driving continuous improvement across the organisation.
