Senior Delivery Lead Location: Telford (Hybrid - ideally 2 days per week onsite, minimum 1 day per week)
Rate: £550 per day (Inside IR35)
Contract Length: 6 Months
Clearance: BPSS Required (SC Desirable)
Start Date: ASAP
Our Government Public Sector client is seeking an experienced Senior Delivery Lead (SFIA Level 5) to support a large-scale Agile software engineering programme.
This role is ideal for a delivery professional with a strong background in leading complex software development initiatives, managing multiple Agile teams, and driving successful delivery outcomes within fast-paced environments.
Key Responsibilities*Lead delivery across Agile software engineering teams.
*Coordinate multiple workstreams, dependencies, risks, and delivery plans.
*Facilitate Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.
*Manage RAID logs, governance activities, and stakeholder reporting.
*Remove blockers and drive continuous improvement across delivery processes.
*Build strong relationships with technical teams, business stakeholders, and programme leadership.
Essential Skills & Experience*Proven experience operating at SFIA Level 5 as a Delivery Lead, Delivery Manager, or similar.
*Strong track record delivering Agile software engineering projects and programmes.
*Experience managing multiple Agile teams and concurrent delivery workstreams.
*Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
*Experience with Scrum, Kanban, Jira, Azure DevOps, and Confluence.
*Demonstrable experience managing risks, dependencies, governance, and delivery reporting.
*Excellent planning, leadership, and organisational skills.
Desirable Experience*Public sector or government programme delivery experience.
*Experience working alongside Java engineering teams.
*Understanding of cloud-native environments, APIs, microservices, CI/CD, and DevOps practices.
*Active SC Clearance or eligibility to obtain clearance.
