Full job descriptionCompliance Officer/Analyst & Business Support | Specialist Insurance | £40k–£60k
A rare opportunity to join a small, specialist insurance business (circa 20 employees) in a varied role sitting right at the heart of the organisation — working directly with the Head of Compliance and CEO.
This isn’t a back-office compliance role. You’ll be genuinely embedded in how the business runs: compliance monitoring and governance on one side, CEO and business management support on the other. If you like structure, detail, and being the person who keeps things moving, this is built for you.
What you’ll be doing:
*Running first-level compliance monitoring — file audits, thematic reviews, underwriting file checks against regulatory and delegated authority requirements
*Maintaining compliance MI: conduct risk, complaints, breaches, training, financial crime, gifts & hospitality
*Supporting governance — Board and Risk & Compliance Committee papers, actions tracking, company secretarial duties
*Assisting with data protection (DPIAs, breach logs, ROPAs)
*Providing direct business support to the CEO — briefing notes, action trackers, coordination across underwriting, ops, finance and compliance
*Getting involved in ad-hoc special projects across the business
What we’re looking for:
*Background in compliance, risk, governance or business support within insurance or financial services
*Understanding of FCA-regulated environments (MGA/Lloyd’s market experience a strong plus)
*Experience with file audits, compliance monitoring or QA
*Comfortable supporting senior leaders/Board-level governance
*Highly organised, detail-focused, and equally happy working independently or juggling shifting priorities
*Strong written communication — minutes, reports, summaries that are clear and to the point
