We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our clients growing team in Redhill. This is an excellent opportunity for a practice-trained accountant who enjoys managing client relationships, mentoring junior team members, and delivering high-quality accounting services within a supportive and collaborative environment.
Reporting directly to the Managing Partner, you will take ownership of a diverse portfolio of clients while playing a key role in supporting the development of junior staff and contributing to the continued growth of the firm.
The Role
As a Senior Accountant, you will:
*Manage a portfolio of approximately 100 clients across a variety of sectors
*Prepare statutory accounts for limited companies, partnerships and sole traders
*Produce management accounts, VAT returns and corporation tax returns
*Act as the primary day-to-day contact for clients, delivering exceptional service
*Handle and resolve client queries promptly and professionally
*Support, coach and mentor junior members of the team, providing technical guidance
*Assist in overseeing junior team portfolios and reviewing work where required
*Ensure portfolio billing targets are achieved
*Maintain accurate client records and timesheets within CCH
*Deliver client work within agreed deadlines and service standards
*Identify and support new business opportunities
*Keep up to date with accounting regulations, software developments and industry changes
*Collaborate with colleagues across the practice to support overall business objectives
About You
*ACA, ACCA, CGMA or CIMA qualification (fully or part-qualified)
*2–5 years’ experience within an accountancy practice
*Experience managing client relationships and handling a varied workload
*Strong technical accounting knowledge including accounts preparation, VAT and corporation tax
*Previous experience coaching, mentoring or supporting junior staff
*Excellent organisational and time management skills
*Strong attention to detail
*Excellent written and verbal communication skills
*A collaborative and proactive approach
