Salary: £40,000 - £60,000 per annum (depending on experience) + Performance Bonus
Hours: 40 hours per week | Monday to Friday | 8:30am – 5:00pm

The Opportunity
As our Commercial Meat Buyer & Trader, you’ll take ownership of buying and trading across beef, pork, poultry and lamb, ensuring DB Foods remains competitive, profitable and ahead of the market.
You’ll combine commercial instinct with market intelligence to identify buying opportunities, negotiate exceptional supplier agreements and continually improve buying performance across the business.
Success in this role isn’t measured by how many purchase orders you process.
It’s measured by the value you create.
What You’ll Be Responsible For
*Buying and trading across all major meat categories.
*Identifying commercial opportunities that improve margin and strengthen supply.
*Negotiating pricing, rebates, specifications and commercial agreements with UK and international suppliers.
*Monitoring market trends, commodity movements and supply risks to stay ahead of the competition.
*Developing long-term supplier partnerships while continually identifying new sourcing opportunities.
*Working closely with Sales, Commercial and Operations teams to maximise profitability and customer service.
*Contributing to the ongoing commercial strategy of the business.
About You
You’ll already have experience buying or trading meat within wholesale, retail, manufacturing or FMCG.
More importantly, you’ll be someone who enjoys making commercial decisions and delivering measurable results.
You’ll bring:
*Proven experience buying and trading meat in a fast-paced commercial environment.
*Strong negotiation skills with the confidence to challenge suppliers and secure the best deals.
*A thorough understanding of commodity markets, pricing and international supply chains.
*Experience managing significant purchasing spend and high-volume supply.
*Strong commercial judgement and the confidence to make decisions.
*An entrepreneurial mindset with a genuine passion for improving performance.
