Full job description
Litigation Paralegal
Location: Chester Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience Job type: Full time, permanent
Are you a paralegal with at least a year of dispute resolution experience, looking for a role where you actually get near the interesting work?
We are recruiting on behalf of a well regarded, growing law firm in Chester. Their Dispute Resolution team is expanding, and they want a proactive, well organised paralegal to grow with it.
This is not a photocopying and filing role. You will support senior fee earners across the full lifecycle of complex litigation, from first enquiry through to hearing.
What you will be doing
*Supporting fee earners with supervised fee earning tasks, with accuracy and compliance at the core
*Preparing court documents and bundles under the guidance of senior team members
*Handling new enquiries in line with team processes
*Attending meetings, mediations and court hearings, taking detailed notes and uploading them to the case management system
*Acting as a point of contact when fee earners are out, managing calls and escalating urgent matters
*Providing routine client updates and drafting follow up correspondence to keep cases moving
*Using your initiative to make information requests and enquiries that progress matters
*Managing outgoing correspondence, standard and non standard, to a high standard
What they are looking for
*At least 1 year of experience in Dispute Resolution. Exposure to commercial and contract disputes, intellectual property, partnership and shareholder disputes, or property litigation is ideal
*A genuine interest in litigation as a career, not just a stepping stone
*Excellent written and verbal communication
*Strong organisation and real attention to detail
*Confidence using case management systems
*A commitment to first class client care and high professional standards
What is on offer
Leave
*24 days annual leave plus 8 bank holidays
*An additional 3 paid office closure days between Christmas and New Year
*Your birthday off
Health and wellbeing
*Private health cover
*Medical cashback scheme
*24 hour GP service
*Life cover at 4x annual salary
*Enhanced sick pay
*Employee Assistance Programme
Family
*Enhanced maternity and paternity leave and pay
Financial and reward
*Employer pension contribution
*£1,000 recruitment referral scheme
*Voucher reward schemes
Culture
*A dedicated CSR committee with regular social and charity events
Why this role
If you have done a year or more in dispute resolution and you are ready for higher quality work, better exposure and a clear path forward, this is worth a conversation. You will be working closely with experienced litigators on genuinely engaging matters, in a firm that invests properly in its people.
