Full job descriptionWe are supporting our client with a cloud engineering and automation programme and are seeking an experienced Logging & Inventory Cloud Engineer.
This role will focus on enhancing cloud visibility, inventory management, monitoring capabilities and automation across complex multi-cloud environments.
*Role: Logging & Inventory Cloud Engineer
*Day rate: £400 – 450 per day (inside IR35)
*Pay framework: Umbrella Company
*Location: Glasgow office - Hybrid - 4 days a week in the office, 1 day WFH
*Duration: 6 months initially (with potential extension)
*Contract Start Date: Immediate
Key Responsibilities
*Design, implement and maintain logging, monitoring and inventory management solutions across cloud platforms.
*Develop automation solutions to improve operational efficiency and reduce manual processes.
*Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
*Develop scripts and tooling using Python and Shell scripting.
*Support cloud engineering activities across AWS and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
*Drive improvements in cloud observability, monitoring and operational reporting.
*Manage and optimise containerised workloads where required.
*Work closely with engineering and platform teams to improve cloud governance and operational controls.
*Support cloud asset discovery, inventory management and configuration management initiatives.
Essential Skills/Experience
*Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Amazon Web Services (AWS).
*Proven experience delivering logging, monitoring and inventory management solutions within cloud environments.
*Strong Python development and automation skills.
*Extensive experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code.
*Strong Shell scripting capabilities.
*Demonstrated experience driving automation initiatives.
*Experience working with Kubernetes and/or containerisation technologies.
