The Role
We are working with a well-established accountancy practice seeking an experienced Accounts Manager to take ownership of a varied client portfolio while leading a small team. This is a key role focused on delivering high-quality accounts, tax and advisory services while ensuring excellent client relationships and efficient workflow management.
This position offers a genuine blend of technical delivery, client advisory work and team leadership, with strong scope for progression within a growing and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities*Manage a portfolio of limited companies, partnerships and sole traders
*Review statutory accounts, VAT returns and corporation tax computations
*Act as the main point of contact for key clients, providing proactive advice
*Oversee workflow, deadlines and quality control across the accounts team
*Support and develop junior and senior team members through coaching and review
*Identify opportunities for advisory work and additional services
*Liaise with senior leadership on client and technical matters
*Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal procedures
About You*ACA or ACCA qualified, or qualified by experience within practice
*Strong background in UK accountancy practice with portfolio management experience
*Confident reviewing accounts, tax returns and management information
*Proven ability to supervise and develop team members
*Strong communication skills and commercial awareness
*Comfortable managing deadlines and multiple client priorities
