Reed Education is delighted to be recruiting a Year 2 Teaching Assistant on behalf of a friendly and inclusive 2-form entry primary school in Cheltenham. This is a full-time, long-term position starting in September and running for the entire academic year.
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school community and play a key role in helping Year 2 pupils thrive both academically and personally during this important stage of their primary education.
The Role
As a Year 2 Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher and wider Key Stage 1 team to support teaching and learning across the classroom.
Key Responsibilities
*Support the teacher in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons.
*Work with individual pupils and small groups to reinforce learning.
*Assist with literacy, numeracy, phonics, and intervention activities.
*Help prepare classroom resources and learning materials.
*Support pupils’ social, emotional, and behavioural development.
*Encourage pupil engagement, confidence, and independence.
*Monitor progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.
*Contribute to maintaining a positive and stimulating learning environment.
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for a candidate who:
*Has previous experience working with primary-aged children.
*Has experience supporting Key Stage 1 pupils (desirable).
*Is enthusiastic, patient, and nurturing.
*Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
*Can work effectively as part of a team.
*Is committed to helping children achieve their full potential.
*Holds a Teaching Assistant qualification or relevant experience (desirable but not essential).
